For the day preceding Christmas on the 21st, we are looking at a different sort of holiday. A conjunction of planets, Saturn and Jupiter for the first time in over 800 years. What does it mean? A shifting era perhaps? Some say it heralds a new age of Aquarius, a time of mental awakening and the ascendancy of the female. The age of Pisces since the birth of Christ has brought forth the age of Man... and who knows, does it spell the end for the Patriarchal Circle, those who prey on the flesh of women? Whatever the case, the Green Man, the Children of Asterion, the Osnovatel, and all their members of the dark gastronomical society do love a challenge. A prouder prey means a more delicious meal!

For now, to tide you over before Christmas we present you a collection of ideas, art and stories before a longer, more structured schedule I aspire to for the start of the new year. The time of the catastrophic 2020 will end... the time of famine, and let us hope that 2021 will bring forth a new era of lavish feasts.

Bon appétit!

The First: A Girl Broken

We had a curious little dish that stumped even our most accomplished French Chef. For many years he had mastered the art, perfected the preparation, taking into the account, weight, duration of cooking as opposed to the type of flesh, humidity, et cetera, and still he was fallible. It was a surprise when he found that one leg cooked more thoroughly than the other. The dish was still excellent and the margin of error was well within the requirements of the Circle, but the Chef had still been discontent at his carelessness. It was only after the carving of one of the legs when the mystery had been solved. It wasn't the fault of the chef, but more of the procurer of the carcass who had failed to inform the butcher of the vehicular accident the sacrifice had suffered a few years prior... one that had her undergo surgery to insert a metal rod into her broken femur. The diners had been thoroughly entertained at the Chef's expense.

One small mishap to add to the unpredictable pleasures of a mundane existence.

The Second and Third: The Gifts of Munera

The defeated was presented to the diners in a mostly lewd fashion and the victor... otherwise would most likely be reluctant, but our Lua Mater was especially sadistic in her glee in enjoying the carcass of her opponent, with spices, herbs and olive oil.

We would usually refrain from tainting the meat with our impurities, but seeing how she would have easily ended up on the dinner table herself, we embraced her sodomy in all its wicked kind provided so long as we could bear witness. Oh how the dearly departed could see herself now. The rage she would feel at the defilement of her corpse. If the coin had flipped the other way, she would have easily been the one alive as throughout the contest, she easily had the upper hand if fate had not interceded.

Such is the fleeting and temporary nature of the title of Lua Mater, where only one had remained until her retirement and her permanent induction into the Inner Circle of the Society, one of the rare few who are not from the bloodline of Asterion.

The Fourth and Fifth: Sketches of a Future Story, the Cat Burglar

The couple here is a couple of sketched panels of a story of a Cat Burglar and Jewel Thief who was hired to investigate some strange mysteries at the heart of the Vatican. Safe to say that she had stumbled upon something she shouldn't have seen at the heart of darkness and a horrible punishment awaits to those who sin against the Black Church.
