Journal #6: Short Stories

I'd left the short story section idle for far too long which I failed to address in the previous journal post. I do also miss writing. (I'll take this time to push my 3 stories, The Chateau, The Ballad of Ned & Roger, and The Spoils of War.) Perhaps I should put up a writing prompt whenever I feel like taking a break from drawing or while sunning myself at a beach with gorgeous girls walking about with their exposed tattoos on their legs, a short story would come along. Therefore I'm pleased to announce more stories at the Repository, including one from mine.

The first is a tale that takes place in Ancient China called "The Bluebeard Emperor". Another one titled "Soul Food" was submitted to me personally through email and I enjoyed it very much. The other, "Room #21" had been up for a while but I forgot to put up a review for the longest time. As it happens, now I've come to a level where I cannot post any type of story on there. It has to fit a certain quality because I do tend to read everything that I post on that, so one needs to come along that holds my attention long enough for me to well... give it my own attention when writing a summary and short review.

I've also made some changes to the Index for the Tales of the Vanished series as I begin to solidify some of the story points to make them fit. When I started this project, I knew that I'm winging it in some ways, having a solid plan but I know that my first concept may not be perfect. Some characters had been fleshed out, some combined from two to one person, but in the end, by the time the story is complete enough to publish as a comic book, I should have a full enough story for you all, and thus locked as canon. So in a way, this index page is also a guide for me to feel out my universe and story.

I know I shouldn't have a journal update without posting some pictures. I've had thoughts of illustrating some of my stories, perhaps in the future, but in the meantime, here's another preview panel from the Tales of the Vanished: Lua Mater comic story.

For now, the next update will soon come hard and fast, as soon as a couple of days. Oh, and also, I've changed the poll topic, so give that a vote. It's one way I try to stay connected to you, my valued patrons. So stay tuned and bon appétit!
