290: Pride Before the Fall

Dear Patrons,

As I was setting up this update, it was quite the coincidence that this shall fall at the end of "Pride" month, though I assure you, the meaning of "Pride" connotes a different, more ageless and biblical meaning. There are a few stories that follow variations this theme, including some of the stories I'm currently working on, GYMNAST, DOOMED RAIDER and HEADHUNTERS. It may be pride in terms of physical self-absorbed beauty, pride on one's fighting abilities, or pride in a sense of assuredness.

A previously abandoned project that started out as a commission, and perhaps I saw that the inspiration of the patron's commission came up recently on my news feed that made me bring this out again. I wanted to play on the trope of a rather defiant, arrogant, opinionated, indignant woman who sees her world view fall apart, a defiant feminist full of hubris and righteousness who found her world view completely ripped apart after being abducted by the Society and well... we know what uses the Circle Elite has for such a pretty thing, no matter how bitter her disposition, they'll still find quite sweet and savory in the end.

As previously mentioned, this one's an experiment that I've touched up after dusting it off from the archives from my sketchbook.
