310: Smorgasbord of Cold Cuts

Dear Patrons,

The past two updates have taken a lot more out of me than I expected as I try to enhance the quality of the posts with stories and artworks while still trying to catch up on the updates. Although I enjoy doing them immensely, they take a lot of work to plan and illustrate enough that I'm playing the idea of a 2 updates per month (but with higher quality) with each update promising a story plus more finished works instead of one filled with mostly works in progress... or again, while still trying to maintain that 3 updates per month which I'm trying so hard to maintain without sacrificing quality. Or perhaps I can stagger the updates to have 1 story vignette complete update that simply put, is a little more "epic" in scale, with the other 2 being lighter fare consisting of a blog style work in progress update. Perhaps it's not what most of you are here for so let this carte du jour 310 be an experiment. 

For this update, it will mostly consist of mostly works-in-progress and ones that is more sequential as I begin to practice doing sequential comic-style simpler pieces than piece-de-resistance pieces. as I skip on the story vignette, but what may be short in its completeness, hopefully it makes up for quantity. I look back upon the updates I've done in the past, from 200 and earlier, and I realize that each update was a lot less content (sometimes only 3 artworks) even though I didn't include any works in progress or alternate versions.

With stuff to think about, I'll end it as that, and on to the show with the trademark sign-off... Bon appétit!

I. DELI CUTS

The following is a deli counter scene featuring a trophy and a halved MIDI CUT that's been sitting around for a while, as I plan on how to populate the background. Perhaps a little overly ambitious as I started it it is left in its current "unfinished" yet somewhat "finished" looking state. Instead of letting it sit a little longer, why not publish it now.

The second piece below featuring a deli-counter scene in a Bizarre Meat Bazaar is ambitious of a different scale, a little less complete in its rendering, but a lot more busy in scale with multiple elements.

II. CLAUSI CUM CLAVE

The following are more works in progress as seen in previous update #309 featuring the CAPELET CUT which I plan to create as a "Recipe" update coming soon.

And along with this project, I have also re-incorporate and re-update a pair of past works some may have seen before with much better coloring and shading as the past pieces that I had published in 2018 seem very flat and unflattering in its execution. You can see the evolution of my drawing style for better or worse!

III. DOOMED RAIDER

Another black and white sketched idea of a scene from the DOOMED RAIDER project. The positioning of the dismembered parts may seem familiar.

IV. MERMAID

Here's a collection of works in progress, somewhat disorganized as I experiment on various poses and alternate actions, both with perpetrators doing the manhandling, and a few without, providing an unobstructed view of the meat.
